The day before it would have been impossible both to stand up or see this vista. A blizzard hit this area the day before, peppering the black ash beach with its white dusting of really cold snow. Yes I know what your thinking, snow is always cold, well yes , but, when the temperature hits -10°c it’s doesn’t stick to itself as much and it tends to dust rather than stick. Look carefully and you can see the black beach beneath.
Trawlers dragged up on the beach like this become like stranded whales, only scrap dealers take the place of seagulls and other scavengers (no insult intended lads, it’s a living based on recycling, Kudos!).
