Probably one of my favourite locations in a iceland, shame it’s on the other side of the island. But quite worth the 300 miles drive miles east. The location has everything that is the thread of the fabric of Iceland, snow and cloud capped mountains, sea, black beach with its unique black dunes, wildlife and at night the glorious northern lights hovering over the Vestrahorn (the group of mountains in the background).
Having returned many times there is still something different to satisfy the creative heart. This occasion I walked as far as I could to the sea, finally climbing onto a small rock promontory and looking back to the land capturing the rough Icelandic seas pounding the the rocky shore.
One feature that adds dynamism to an image are diagonals. Not realising this at the time, but looking back this image is full of them.
