Final Destination, Jokulsarlon, Iceland

Taken on a beautiful and relatively calm morning just after sunrise (read dinner time ! ) this car size iceberg will have reached its final resting place as it disintegrates into its former element , water .
Strange to contemplate that the iceberg will likely be older than the ash on the beach ! It take approximately 2,000 years for ice to travel the full 40 miles to the sea , whereas the ash is from eruptions from maybe only a few hundred years .
