One wonders why certain things grow in the most challenging of places, a case in point is this conifer found 2/3rds up the Struggle on the way to the Kirkstone pub.
Finally the day arrived when the weather was perfect, and the Farmer had left the gate slightly ajar. Waited patiently for a large white cloud to pass behind the branches to clarify their structure and bingo!
The wind was in the east giving a clarity to the landscape that only happens in the spring.
PS – I closed the gate behind me!
