I was only intending on visiting Ribble head Viaduct as a brief visit on my way to my intended destination in Whitby .
On returning from the view of the moor , a woman hurriedly walking a dog asked me “Have I missed it yet !” Meaning the last stem train passing on the Settle to Carlisle railway .
Within 20minutes on learning this I quickly set up the camera and waited . This is the best of 5 images of that moment .
There is more to the picture than just the train . The whole valley , the geological beauty of The limestone wall and the Viaduct tells a story of the age of the train that stretches over a hundred and fifty years . I hope this image goes some way to capture that.
